Welcome

Nestled within a historic building rich with character, our restaurant is a place where tradition meets warmth. We believe that food should be both comforting and memorable, which is why we serve country-style dishes prepared with seasonal ingredients, timeless techniques, and just the right touch of flair.

Every plate is designed to feel familiar yet special — the kind of food that nourishes both body and soul. While our setting speaks of old-world charm, our five-star service ensures a dining experience that is polished, attentive, and truly welcoming.

For us, it’s more than a meal — it’s about creating moments. Whether you’re sharing a long table with family, enjoying a quiet evening for two, or celebrating a milestone, we take pride in offering food and hospitality that make you feel at home, while still feeling indulged.

About us:

We’re Jacobus and Gwynnedd, and for the past ten years we’ve called Swellendam home. What started as a love for hospitality and good food has grown into a small family of businesses, each created with care and a deep connection to this community.

Our journey began with the Country Cottage, a place for guests to slow down and experience the charm of Swellendam at their own pace. From there, we opened our Country Deli, where locals and visitors alike gather for freshly baked breads, fresh flowers, delicious coffee, and a welcoming smile.

Now, with the newest chapter — Field and Fork Country Kitchen — we’re bringing it all together. Housed in a historic building full of character, the Country Kitchen is an extension of who we are: warm, generous, and passionate about the details that make every experience memorable. Here you’ll find country-style food with heart, five-star service, and the same love and care that have guided us from the very beginning.

It’s our joy to welcome you — not just as guests, but as part of the story we’re so proud to share.
